After some research on the weather forecast we take a car and drive it to places where the sky is most clear and the probability of seeing the Northern Lights is highest. Your experienced guide, a professional Aurora Hunter has some interesting stories to tell.

Special treat for the clear sky nights! Enjoy the panorama sauna and outdoor jacuzzi with a bottle of sparkling wine and small snack!

Your husky musher will pick you up from the Ivalo River Camping reception and take you to the husky farm nearby. You will get to greet the dogs and you’ll get to know details of the life of Alaskan Husky dogs. A team of huskies will take you on a 20-minute ride on a customized summer wagon. You’ll be served coffee in a traditional wooden Kota-building at the husky farm.

Take a different perspective and enjoy the serenity and stillness of the wild from the saddle. Explore exciting trails and breathtaking scenery, breathe in clean air and let your senses be filled with purity of arctic nature. Calm and friendly Finnish horses, living national treasures, will carry you safely through the woods. After the ride we'll enjoy refreshments. You'll make memories for life!

We will take transportation from Ivalo River Camping to Saariselkä by minibus. We will hike up to the fell region of Urho Kekkonen National Park. It is Finland’s second largest national park, comprises the fell regions of Saariselkä, as well as the forest regions of the northern sections of the municipalities of Savukoski and Salla. This area named Koilliskaira is one of the last wilderness regions of Western Europe. The task of the National Park is the preservation of the native forest, bog and fell countryside. Good outdoor clothes and sturdy footwear are recommended.

The Fat Bikes are bicycles with huge fat tires so they roll well even on snow! Electronic engine assists you as you pedal through the forest trails with us. We take a scenic route to see a perfect landscape view and to take some photos.

We ride with ease on through the forest as the electronic engines assist you while pedaling on these wonderful Fat Bikes. Get some fresh air and ride the bike with us to a traditional Lappish kota tent for a break to enjoy sausages and hot drinks by open fire.

We drive to a nearby disc golf course and get a quick introduction to the basics of the game by your guide. The Ivalo Disc Golf course includes 18 holes. We can play a shorter 9 hole course or the full 18 holes depending on your skills and will.

Disc golf (occasionally called Frisbee golf) is a flying disc sport in which players throw a disc at a target; it is played using rules similar to golf. Players complete a hole by throwing a disc from a tee area toward a target, throwing again from the landing position of the disc until the target is reached.

Your guide will drive you along beautiful landscapes formed by several small lakes and the great Lake Inari. Your guide will tell you stories about Lapland as you approach the Lapp museum Siida where you’ll see a dvd of the Northern Lights. We will take a tour in the museum. The guide will walk with you and will be there for you in case of questions. You can have also your own time in the museum of many international awards. The museum displays the original way of living of Sámi people and the Lappish wilderness with its six seasons of the year. This is an exciting day to see and hear about the Lappish way of living.

Hop on board to the minibus and discover the Nellim wilderness area. Your guide will take you through the village to the Russian border zone, the beautiful Paatsjoki River bridge and the Nellimjärvi historic wood flume. Before heading back to Ivalo, we will stop at the wilderness church for photos and stories about the site and the Skolt Sami culture.

Enjoy the panoramic view from the glass roof sauna and relax at the outdoor jacuzzi.
